So the presidential election in America is making headlines -- "A Fresh Start", got everyone all excited... no one really knows who's going to be the President of the United States?
BIG DEAL, if you believe that!!!!

Now you may be thinking, "Oh, No! Not the frustrated-with-America thing, again. Yes, you're right! And why shouldn't you be right? The state of American politics, world politics for that matter, is frustrating. But, in this article, I'll confine myself to the frustration in America politics have created since, since...well, since its beginnings!

All that crap taught in schools about the glorious intentions of "The Founding Fathers of America", or "Sons of Liberty", as Rebecca Brooks Gruver called them in her book An American History, has very little to do with the America's political reality, which is one based on profit and the control of profit making -- not ideals! Although Mrs. Gruver does a very good job, as many others have as well, of sweetening up the slaughter of millions of Native Americans and the brutal enslavement of millions of Africans, both of whom's blood, sweat, and tears made it possible for the nation to have become what it is today! Facts remain facts, truths remain truths!

I said all that to say what: It shouldn't surprise you to see anyone misuse the American politcal system the way the Bush's have -- The Bush's are justing following along with American tradition. It shouldn't surprise you know that the American political system is not serving its people -- tradition; It shouldn't surprise you to know that the majority of America's non-white population typically doesn't vote -- tradition. It shouldn't surprise you that Florida is searching for thousands of "mis-placed" absentee ballots that should have been delivered to voters -- that's becoming tradition too, just as it shouldn't surprise you to know that lawsuits surround election before it starts -- also becomming tradition!

Somebody stand up and shout, if I'm lying!!

American politicians have created an incredible situation in America. And, although not all of this can be contributed to Mr. G. W. Bush's government -- he has added his personal signature to them:

    • There is a war going on against a self-created enemy that is costing the lives of innocent people
    • There is also a war going on to prevent non-white Americans from voting with all legal means necessary. Why does a great country, fair country, like America need a Help America Vote Act?
    • People are being stuck in the most discusting place, a cage, without any rights, privileges, decency, and no charges against them
    • The Pentagon is preventing people from voting overseas, or the absentee ballots are never received
    • Many of the President of the United State's cabinet members are profiting through the sales of military arms/products which Mr. G. W. Bush. is consciously supporting
    • Getting deeper: the HIV/AIDS Virus is mainly affected young black females -- thoughout the world and that includes of course America, and the American government is doing little to nothing against it
    • The price of oil has SKYROCKETED! Everyone involved in anyway with oils sales is making more money than they could ever have dreamed of, while the price of gasoline has risen to astronomical heights, which of course is not an incentive for the government to encourage automakers to build cars that can run on anything else
    • It has been proven that big-business and the American government, Mr. G. W. Bush's American government, have sold out its people for profit
    • 65% of the American public is over weight, have pathetic diets to include large consumptions of sugar and many, many artifically produced foods lined with scarcely tested chemicals, which causes health costs to rise illneses related to obesity increase -- both selling such products and treating those who get sick on them are profit bringers, and the government doesn't provide victims of these buisnesses with any recourse other than to be subdued
    • Approximately 23% (40 to 44 million adults) living in Americans are Level 1 illiterates and this number is increasing -- the government, Mr. G. W. Bush's government can better control the uninformed/misinformed. Mr. G. W. Bush's government would much rather keep Americans ignorant that revise the public education system, although he does claim something totally different
    • The unemployment level in America has decreased mostly in part because the U.S. government, Mr. G. W. Bush's U.S. government has provided the jobs while at the same time increasing the national debt in the last four years from $3,410 Billion to a projected $4,334 Billion. What does the American government care about bankrupting the country? The politicians in Mr. G. W. Bush's government have gotten rich on the job -- either through oil or weapons revenues
    • Halliburton Co. is openly, publicly boasting on its business successes, while trying to recruit new investors for its U.S. government, Mr. G. W. Bush's U.S. government, is funding projects in Iraq. By the way, Congress approved $18.4 billion in reconstruction aid last November. Is this Mr. G. W. Bush's Congress? Yes it is!!
    • Did you ever ask youself, America, how Mr. G. W. Bush. is spending your money? Here are some of the people who've been keeping up-do-date with that. They have a lot of interesting things to tell -- mis-management, poor management practices, how all the oil revenues are supposed to be turned over the Iraqi interim government, at least according to the UN resolution. But then again, when has Mr. G. W. Bush. cared about what the UN has had to say?
    • This site here, this must be the most audacious site on Iraq I've ever seen. In fact, this site is so elite, you have to pay $1,495 per year to read their articles, which appear Twice-monthly! Isn't that great!
    • Someone has actually admitted that taking away a person's right to vote reduces them to slaves! Reading this is an absolute must! And although this site gives tons of information on how, when and where people voted, I didn't find a clear statement that proclaimed what the voter percentage for the last election was. In my mind, there's a figure somewhere around 40%. Get detailed information there on how Mr. G. W. Bush conned the country into proclaiming him president by looking at some of the figures/statistic/data that have been compiled.
    • In the newest trend, America is witnessing the exportation of jobs to China, the most expanding market today
    • and...that should be enough for starters

Well the two candidates have vowed to make things "better". The one that wants to take over the presidency and vows to right the wrongs of the current president. The current president, on the other hand, vows to continue to drive the country in the same direction it's going, but with more perseverence and determination etc. And that would make us think they would want to do some of the following:

    • Stabilize the economy and create more jobs
    • Create/administer a better health care program
    • Create a plan to prevent job-loss due to relocation, that is the relocation of production to countries with lower labor costs. Here I'll leave out the part where we, the consumer are to blame for a companies success in doing that -- any company that exports it's production to another country just to make a bigger profit should be forced to sell its products where they are made! I mean let's learn to talk the languag companies like these understand: the sound of money!
    • Decrease the tax burden on Americans
    • Decrease the federal debt
    • Increase the tax burden on Companies
    • Increase welfare for Americans
    • Decrease welfare for Companies
    • Support/Create AID programms (actually I do have much more to say on this topic that I'll save for another article!!!)
    • Reduce military spending
    • Create a new education plan and a Board of Education who's job it will be to educate Americans -- all Americans, while gearing learning programs to accomodate the defficiencies created by the system that exists today with emphasis on teaching how to learn and how to teach
    • Eliminate police brutality
    • Eliminate race/sex discrimination, beginning with U.S. government agencies
    • Appoint a non-partisan commitee selected by the people (real democracy!) to over-see agencies such as: NSA, CIA, FBI, correctional institutions, federal and state hoispitols. That should be enough for starters
    • Reduce the countries dependency on Oil (if you hear anyone gasping, their more than likely Texan!). Here you stop by ordering government vehicles that run on fluids created from sugar cane (found out what that's called Robert)
    • Treat corporate crime more serious, that is, send corporate criminals to jail along with those that rob the American people to include the polititians that are bought out and those who othewise support them
    • ....
If the next American president worked my list down, I would be the first to want to change the law so that this person could assume the presidency without challenge till his/her death and I'm sure millions would support me on that!

    Are we getting somewhere yet?

I was sitting at a table recently, trying to think of a good explaintion of democracy. Do you remember that? That's the thing where everybody's supposed to have a say, or something like that. But, in reality, democracy describes the ability of a people to select those who offer their skills and expertise in making decisions that most of the time have nothing to do with the needs of the people who selected them in the first place!

Is this making any sense yet?

I'm saying you have a people that have specific needs based on certain factors, economic, social-economic, cultural, educational, etc... Now you have a group of people elected (this word has now become controversial) to decide how the needs of these people are to be met. Has this every been the case in America?

I know I'm repeating myself, but ask yourself, "Has their ever been a political structure that actually set as it's main goal to be the benefit and the well-being of its people it represents? Wasn't every American government to-date concerned about the profit/benefit of a few?"

Mr. Michael Moore is a great guy and one of my personal heroes!! He pointed out in one of his films that the vote in Florida was manipulated to Mr. G. W. Bush's advantage. Did the American voter gone to any lengths to show its disapproval? Sure the people were and are still angry about what happened then. I've noted above how some organizations filed suite. But the American people, it seems, are so doped up with media-hypes, propaganda, petty squables and the like, that they insist on supporting this man regardless of how he became president!

Are you asking yourself, "How can this be?" Well, if you aren't you should be!

Well what I'm getting at is this:
If the country is so screwed up, the economy has gone to the dogs, which it has, the politicians and the big businesses are the dogs which they are...etc, why should we even be concerned about voting -- why should we even do it? Mr. G. W. Bush's government has installed new voting machines, while his government has kept us dum enough that we more than likely won't be able to use them anyway without disqualifying our ballot. So then if you don't vote, if none of us do, what happens then? What happens to a presidential election when only the politicians vote? In a democracy shouldn't there be some kind of situation where, say if less than 20% of the voting population participates then the election becomes illegal and has to be reheld, while an interim government assumes control of the country. I mean doesn't that make a clear statement that says voters have no confidence in the political system and no confidence in the politicians that make it up?

Isn't the overall plan to ensure that the people are needs are represented and reflected in government? Well, regardless of who actually takes over the presidency, this ultimately has no affect on what happens politically once the politicians assume office.

Bill Clinton is a prime example of a president that contradicted is campaign promises. He went as far as to bargain for the African American vote, making concessions that he ignored once he actually took office.

Bush on the other hand, only made a few promises to the public..... But, that's what you expect during a presidential candidacy. He definitely kept his promise to those who actually helped him get into office, the good old boys -- his Daddy's friends, as Michael Moore once called them. So what's wrong with that? Nothing! That has everything to do with politics as we have ever known them in America. You're absolutely unrealistic if you think any different. So, now let's us prepare for the next onset of protest and lawsuits.

On a special note for the inquisitive, here are a few more links I found of interest surrounding the presidential election of 2004:
